Picklers Assemble!

Golden Triangle Pickleball’s Play With Purpose tour kicked off this week in a spirit of camaraderie fostered by a shared obsession: the perfect dink. 

Our 10-day Thailand adventure opened in Bangkok with picklers and friends converging at the plush Dusit Suites Hotel in Ratchadamri, which was the ideal soft landing — two days to relax, recharge, and ready-up for both cultural immersion and court conquest.

Bangkok served up an interesting blend of sport and city life. At the Asoke Sports Club, rooftop pickleball offered breathtaking skyline views and it a morning of friendly competition wrapped in community – the kind of court chemistry that defines Golden Triangle Pickleball’s ethos.

Off the court, the itinerary included a group visit to the riverside Jim Thompson House Museum. With its signature teak architecture and silk-weaving lore, it was a tranquil cultural contrast to the pickleball courts. An evening meal at Err – the hot new Bangkok eatery from Michelin-starred chefs BoLan – became a social sport of its own: bold, utterly memorable plates passed around the long tables made for a fascinating dining experience.

Play With Purpose is run by Friends of Thai Daughters, the anti-trafficking nonprofit committed to protecting girls at risk of trafficking in Northern Thailand. Every swing of a paddle helps spotlight and support programs that give vulnerable girls education, shelter, and opportunities to thrive.

 With the city chapter complete, the tour pivots northward. A short flight carried the crew to Chiang Rai, where cooler air and mountain scenery promise a new tempo. Check in soon for the next chapter of the Play With Purpose Tour!
