Our Mission
Golden Triangle Pickleball + Friends of Thai Daughters
= Social Enterprise in Action
It’s a simple equation. Friends of Thai Daughters (FTD) has been preventing child trafficking in the Golden Triangle for 20 years.
With the construction of two new, purpose-built residential Children’s Homes, each featuring two covered pickleball courts, FTD is establishing a safe, sustainable future for at-risk girls. This is where you and Golden Triangle Pickleball can help – one dink at a time!
Sunflower Farm
FTD’s Model for Sustainable Growth
At Friends of Thai Daughters’ Sunflower Farm, completed in 2022, the nonprofit organization has been working to give young girls at risk of child trafficking the tools to implement, manage and maintain initiatives that will benefit the Daughters and their communities and sustain the program for future generations.

Court is in Session!
The pickleball courts at Sunflower Farm were the first to be built in this area of northern Thailand. They are a source of exercise and teamwork for FTD’s Daughters, and of community outreach and potential income in an underserved area.

Down on the Farm
Sunflower Farm’s certified organic vegetable garden produces abundant food for the table and surplus for sale. Managed by graduate Daughters, it is an outdoor classroom where children from the community learn about good food and healthy eating.

Making a Splash!
The swimming pool at Sunflower Farm is a valuable teaching aid in an area that lacks such facilities. It has become a popular community resource, the centerpiece for busy children’s workshops and a reliable source of income.

The Scoop on the Coop!
With more than 400 chickens in residence, Sunflower Farm’s chicken coop provides eggs for the kitchen, lessons in husbandry, and valuable income. Hundreds of eggs are sold every week to surrounding hotels and businesses.

New Opportunities
Sunflower Farm has partnered with neighboring luxury hotel Tantawan Tented Camp to provide high-quality opportunities for graduate Daughters where they are able to put their excellent education and language skills to good use.
Jasmine Farm
Building on Past Success for Future Sustainability
Jasmine Farm opened its doors in 2024 and is building on the successes of Sunflower Farm in growing its social enterprise partnerships. Golden Triangle Pickleball is at the heart of that process – every tour participant is helping to prevent child trafficking in the Golden Triangle, just by playing pickleball. It’s a win-win!

Community Sports
At Jasmine Farm, the purpose-built facilities will become a Pickleball Sports & Community Center, partnering with clubs in Thailand and overseas to welcome new players and host tournaments. Daughters and community kids will learn to play, benefiting from exercise, teamwork and competition.

Café Culture
The Sports & Community Center will include a café, featuring menu items created from the organic eggs, fish and produce cultivated on Jasmine Farm. The café will generate revenue and provide internships, skills training, and jobs for graduate Daughters and the wider community.

Stay & Play
The Jasmine Farm complex will also include bunglaow-style rental accommodation for visiting pickleball players. Like the café, this will generate revenue, skills and job training for FTD graduates and the local community whilst introducing the organization’s programs to a new and wider audience.
